This is one of three botanical paintings I did for greeting cards celebrating loved ones. This one is for Morher’s Day. My own mother is especially fond of orchids, so I chose that flower for my subject. The card features the first verse of the hymn “Now Thank We All Our God.”

Now thank we all our God
With hearts and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things has done,
In whom His world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms
Has blest us on our way
With countless gifts of love
And still is ours today.
