My husband and I honeymooned in Moab, Utah in 2021. The next summer, I did this painting in oil from a photo we’d taken at the top of a small cliff we had climbed overlooking the Colorado River just outside Moab. I love the versatility and vibrant color of oil paints, but because they tend to be messier, more fume-y, and more expensive than watercolor, I rarely get the chance to work with them. Once my kids are a bit older, I hope to devote more time to the medium. This painting was done at a workshop led by my long-time mentor, Margie Reinwart.
