This is the first of four bird paintings I did for a series of greeting cards featuring hymn verses. I had originally intended it to be a series of three, but I wanted to paint a flock in flight, and I also liked the idea of a general-purpose card featuring the Common Doxology. The two seemed to fit well together. 

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
